March Nailbox- Easter Theme

Image
Hello my lovely readers! I am so sorry I haven't posted in the last couple of days, I am trying to fight off this horrible bug that is going around and unfortunately I seem to be losing. Today's post is another Nailbox unboxing and review. This month the theme was Easter, when I think of Easter my mind goes to beautiful pastel shades and eggs. So I was a bit surprised to find some very bright colours in this months box. This months box contained 3 polishes one set of fake nails and some nail polish remover. Like I said upon my first impression this box didn't really scream Easter to me. It isn't that I didn't like the colours its just that the only one I felt fit the theme was the pastel lavender and of course the speckled eggs false nails.  The first polish that I swatched was from Moyou London, I was hoping on first glance that it might have been a stamping polish but from what I can see on the site this is Cerise pink which is one of their normal nail...

February Nailbox- Retro Theme

Image
Hello my lovely readers, it is that time of the month again. Nailbox! I always dread and love the end of the month I dread it because it is when all of the bills go out and my bank balance looks like it wants to cry. But I also love it because we get amazing nail mail, this months Nailbox is retro themed. When I opened my box I immediately thought of hippies and old time discos. So let's see the goodies inside the box. This month the lovely people at Nailbox treated us to four different polishes and a set of 3D nail wraps. I love how bright and funky these colours are, and the nail wraps look really unique and different.  The first polish is this gorgeous cobalt blue shimmer full of blue and silver micro glitters, this applies well but does take at least 3 coats to become opaque. It has a very sheer formula and with longer nails you may even have to apply a fourth coat to not have any visible nail line. You can buy this Nicole by OPI from Amazon for £8. I was rea...

Nailbox Valentines Day Mani

Image
Hello my lovely readers! After yesterday's January Nailbox unboxing and review I was dying to try out those two pink polishes we received. So for today's quick Sunday afternoon mani I give to you my Valentines Day mani that screams nothing but love. As you all know by now I am a huge lover of all things pink, so when I found out this gorgeous Seche polish called Rendezvous stamps I was over the moon. For the stamping I used one of my favourite stamping brands Uber Chic. This image is from collection 6 using plate 1, I have been meaning to try out this inverted heart image for quite a while and I think it works really well with these two polish colours. Sinful PROshine's Babydoll is such a lovely baby pink creme, I did however need to use three coats to get this fully opaque and if you use to thick a coat it can get quite gloopy. It isn't the best baby pink I have tried but is not the worst either, as long as you do thin coats it will build up well. I left it...

January Nailbox-Valentines Day

Image
Hello my lovely readers, as we are now finishing up January it is time to start thinking about that lovey dovey day in February. That's right Valentines is just around the corner, and the great girls at Nailbox decided to make sure our nails would be prepared for the occasion. January's Nailbox theme was Valentines day, when I read this my mind immediately went to one paticular colour PINK! I am a huge lover of all things pink, I have pink hoodies, jumpers and trainers. So when I opened this months box I was very happy to see that beautiful colour among my packing peanuts. This month we were treated to another nail treatment, two polishes, one glitter topper and some very handy dandy orange sticks. My little pack of love hearts almost didn't even make it to this picture as my boyfriend loves them and wanted to eat them before I had even finished gazing at the beautiful pink polishes.  Lets dive right in with this gorgeous glitter topper from Nails Inc called ...

First manicure of 2016 using Morgan Taylor Best Ball Gown Ever

Image
Hello my lovely readers I hope you are all having a great week so far, I received some very special nail mail yesterday of some custom polishes that the lovely ladies at Echoes Polish made for me. There will be a full swatch and review coming up of those very shortly. but for today I thought I would do a quick post and share my latest manicure with you. For this manicure I used the beautiful Morgan Taylor Best Ball Gown Ever, I received this in  Decembers Nailbox . This is a gorgeous periwinkle frosty blue with a golden shimmer, I loved how clean and crisp this colour made my nails look. This polish is opaque in 3 coats and is quite a sheer formula but builds up well.  This is the polish on its own it really is a gorgeous shade of blue, for the final look I wanted to just stamp on something extra but try not take away from the beauty of the polish.  For the stamping I turned to my Ejiubas Christmas plate and found this gorgeous delicate image of hearts...

Funky Fresh Jelly Sandwich

Image
Hello my lovely readers, well now that all the festivities are out of the way I can finally begin to breath again. I did have maybe five or six more Christmas manicures I wanted to get done, but I suppose they will have to wait until next year. After receiving  Decembers Nailbox  I was inspired to do a funky fresh manicure. I could not resist using Bloomsbury Way from Nails Inc as those pastel glitters were screaming out to me the minute I opened the box. Because I was happy with my  Winter Jelly Sandwich  I decided to try doing this with the Nails Inc Glitter. First I started off with two coats of Essie's Marshmallow, this is a very sheer white jelly polish so it is perfect for creating jelly sandwiches. I love the different combinations you can create with just one polish, I also felt that white would be a perfect colour for that fresh feeling after all the dark reds and greens that have been showing up over Christmas.  Once both of those coats had...

Decembers Nailbox- Funky Fresh

Image
Hello my lovely readers, I hope you have all had a fab Christmas and were treated to lots of nail goodies. I was very lucky as my day was full of polish, polish and more polish. I have a massive haul coming up of all the loot I received over the last few days. But first lets get into our swatch and review for December's Nailbox, this month the theme was funky fresh. They put in some fabulous polishes to get us ready for the new year, there was also some great little extras hidden underneath all of those packing peanuts. The box definitely had a freshening feel to it and was full of some lovely colours and that Nails inc glitter is to die for. So lets just get into these gorgeous polishes and fab little extras. As you probably can guess the first polish to catch my eye was this gorgeous Nails Inc glitter topper called Bloomsbury way. This is a glitter topper with a clear base and pastel pink, blue and white glitters in all shapes and sizes. It is a bit base heavy so you ...

Nailbox Candy Cane Manicure

Image
Good morning my lovelies, it is absolutely freezing today me and Lexi are both wrapped up in the quilt trying to keep warm like a couple of penguins. I really wanted to try and get this post up last night but my brother and future sister in law (who is also my best friend) came around for an unexpected visit, and then Lexi was being stubborn about going to bed. So today I have for you my manicure using all my nail polish goodies from my November Nailbox , click on the link if you haven't already checked that out. It was crammed full of classic festive colours to use for this coming month.  When I received my Festive Nailbox my first thought was that the nail polish's we were given are the perfect colours for a candy cane manicure. So with that in mind I began planning out my festive fingers mani, first things first I used 2 coats of China Glaze White on White for my base and then topped that with OPI's Happy Anniversary. This gave the base a lovely silvery glow, I was h...

Novembers Nailbox review - Festive Fingers

Image
Hello my fellow nail polish peeps, well it is that time of the month again. I must admit I love the end of the month now so much nail mail, it makes me burst with excitement. Thankfully this month I made sure both my Nailbox and Meebox were sent to my mums house so I didn't have a repeat of last months stolen post fiasco. I must admit the minute that I opened this months Nailbox I had it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas playing in my head. Nailbox definitely 'nailed' it this month. (excuse the pun) If you are looking for classic Christmas colours then this is the box for you. All of these nail goodies for only £15 what a bargain!  The brands included in this months box are two mainstream classics and an Indie brand that is becoming a staple in a lot of our nail collections. The last time I received a True Brit London polish was Taxi Cab in Septembers Creepy colours Nailbox , and I loved it.  For this festive season we all need a Christm...
