July Meebox- Rio Unboxing & Review
Hello, my lovely readers, I hope you have all had a nice week and have been enjoying the sunshine. The highlight of my week was having a dance with my little girl, she has really gotten into listening to music and having a good boogie. Her idea of dancing is shaking her hands and jumping up and down, it is a very funny site to behold. As we are now near the end of the month it is Meebox time again, this month the theme was Rio. So let's jump straight in.
These colours definitely scream Rio to me, I will be honest this colour palette is not what I would normally go for. But that is what I love about Meebox I get to try polishes and colours I wouldn't normally choose for myself.
First up is this beautiful blue polish from a company called Trust Fund Beauty I had never even heard of this brand until now. This polish is called Denim with Diamonds, it is a cobalt blue jelly with light blue shimmer. The formula was on the thicker sides but it smoothed out well, this was fully opaque in 2 coats. This polish is priced at $15 on the Trust Fund Beauty website.
The next polish is from Models Own a UK mainstream brand I know and love, this neon yellow polish is called Luis Lemon from the Iced Neon collection released in 2013. This polish is blinding and a real bugger to photograph, it definitely leans more of a highlighter yellow. This will need a white base to become opaque, for my swatches I used 1 coat of Color Club French Tip and 2 coats of Luis Lemon. The formula was easy to work with but could get quite streaky if manipulated too much, this can be purchased from Models Own website for £4.99.
The last polish in this months box is from Morgan Taylor, it is called Later Alligator. This is a bold green creme fully opaque in 2 coats, the formula with this one was really good levelled out well and easy to work with. This is available on Nail Polish Direct for £8.95.
The star of this months box for me was this adorable little Tweexy, I had been looking into getting one of these recently so I would be able to paint my nails without having to be at my desk. So I was super happy to see this included in the July box, you can place this onto your fingers with ease and it is very flexible so even my sausage fingers fit into it. This managed to fit all three different bottle shapes into it comfortably and they did not fall out even when tipped upside down. Tweexy's retail for £14.95 each, you can get these from Amazon.co.uk and .com.
The last item in this month's box are these Deco It nail stickers from IZ Beauty of London, they have lots of pretty flowers and 3 parrot images all in lovely bright colours. They go very well for the Rio theme as I always associate the country with beautiful bright coloured flowers and parrots. Unlike water decals these don't require much apart from peeling them off their backing and applying them to your nail. These retail for £4 and can be picked up from the IZ Beauty of London website.
Overall July's box was definitely packed full of lots of goodies for all of us nail addicts, whilst these colours are not my usual personal preference they definitely fit the theme of Rio. By far the Tweexy made this box completely worth it for me, it is such a handy little tool and I am sure I will be using it a lot on a day to day basis. The full retail value of all the products in this box comes to roughly £44.31 that is a massive saving of £24.31. Humungous bargain!!
For those of you who don't know, Meebox is a monthly nail subscription box where you receive three different polishes and other nail related items to match that particular months theme. It is £20 per box or you can sign up for 6 or 12 months and get your box at a discounted price. I will leave all of Meebox's social media links and their website below.
I would love to know your thoughts on this months box, which polish was your favourite? As always have a fabulous nail day and I will chat to all you wonderful people again soon.
