December Meebox No Place Like Home- Unboxing & Review

Hello, my lovely readers, I hope you all had a really great Christmas. Here at the FairyTalesNails household, we enjoyed a nice relaxing family holiday. Plenty of presents for Lexi to drive us mad with and lots of food to enjoy over the last few days. I can't believe yet another Christmas has come and gone, soon we will be saying hello to 2017! But for today's post I have Decembers Meebox for you, so lets jump in and see what was in the box!

The theme for December's box was No Place Like Home, once the theme was announced I was really looking forward to taking a trip up the yellow brick road. In this month's box, we received 3 polishes and 4 nail art items! This box was definitely a Christmas treat for all of us with the special additions of a stamping plate, stamper, cuticle oil and nail wraps.

The first polish to catch my eye was this beauty from Leighton Denny called Jailbird, this is a teal metallic polish perfectly opaque in 2 coats. This can be slightly streaky so you can't manipulate the polish too much. I really liked this colour, it was perfect for this time of year and applied really easily. I had no issues with removing this polish either, no staining to the nails or cuticles.

Jailbird (12ml) is available at Nail Polish Direct for £10.80

Once I had gotten over the beauty of Jailbird I saw Kure Bazaar Pigalle, this is a new to me polish brand. This is a limited edition polish for the holidays it has a clear base with metallic red glitters, I am not sure if you will be able to get this fully opaque on its own as it is quite base heavy. For my swatches. I used one coat over Essie Dressed to Kilt, it is a beautiful topper perfect for taking that polish to the next level.

Pigalle (10ml) is available at Love Lula for £15

The last polish in the No Place Like home box was this beautiful gold Zoya called Goldie, this is a yellow-toned metallic gold. This is another polish that you can't manipulate too much, as it can get slightly brush strokey. I used 2 coats for full opacity with a glossy top coat, this is what I would call the typical Christmas gold so a great time to wear this polish.

Zoya Goldie (15ml) is available on Amazon for £11

We were treated to plenty of nail care and art goodies this month, among them was an 'Ard As Nails cuticle oil. This comes in a lip gloss applicator bottle and smells really lovely. I have been using it for the past week and I am really impressed with how well it moisturises and soaks into the skin. This cuticle oil is normally available from the 'Ard As Nails website, but they are closed for Christmas at the moment.

I thought these Gingham nail wraps from NCLA were really pretty, they will be perfect for Spring time and Summer. I wasn't able to find this particular design but you can get NCLA wraps from nail polish direct for £10.95.

The final two nail goodies were a Moyou London stamping plate and stamper, the stamping plate is FairyTale 12. This has plenty of images to choose from that are all inspired by the wizard of Oz, the characters in particular are really cute this costs £5.99. We also received a classic long handled stamper with a red head, this is on the firm side and not sticky this costs £2.99, these are both available on the Moyou London website.

So overall another fantastic box, worked perfectly for the theme and for the festive season. The total of all the goodies in this box came to around £60. I paid £20 for the box so I saved £40, another HUGE bargain! For those of you who don't know Meebox is a nail subscription service, for £20 a month you will receive 3 polishes plus some other nail goodies all based off of a theme. I have been thoroughly impressed with each box I have received throughout this year, I can not wait to see what the Meebox ladies come up with in 2017. I will leave links to Meebox and all their social media down below.

So there we have it the last Meebox of 2016, I would love to know which products are your favourites from this month's box? As always have a fabulous nail day and I will chat to all you wonderful people again soon.

  6. I bet Jailbird would be less streaky if you sponge on the final coat. That's my trick I use for streaky shades.
