April 2017 Meebox Soft Scoop- Unboxing & Review

Welcome back guys, hope you all had a lovely weekend. My nan was back so we had our lovely Sunday roast and family catch up. I can not believe that today is May 1st, that just seems totally bonkers to me. I really wish time would slow down slightly, I'll be sending Lexi off to school before I can even blink at this rate. So as we are at the end of another month, it's time to open another Meebox. So let's just jump straight in.

For Aprils theme was Soft Scoop, this got me really excited because 1 I love ice cream and 2 it meant pastel heaven was coming my way. This month the lovely ladies treated us to 3 beautiful polishes, 1 special top coat and 2 nail art items. So a box filled with plenty of goodies to play with.

Models Own Banana Split

The first polish that caught my eye was from UK brand Models Own, I have been after polishes from this collection for some time so I was excited to finally own one. Banana Split is a pastel yellow creme, as we all know yellow's never have a good formula so this did need 3 coats and was on the streaky side. This polish is available from theModels Own website for £4.99 (14ml)

IZ Beauty of London Baby Blue

The next polish is from another UK brand called IZ Beauty of London, I have tried this brand before so was excited to own another polish from them. Baby blue is a pastel blue creme gel effect polish, this one was another 3 coater with a slightly streaky formula. This can be purchased from the IZ Beauty website for £6 (6ml)

Trust Fund Beauty Do You Know Who My Father Is?

The last polish from the Soft Scoop box was from American brand Trust Fund Beauty, this is a beautiful soft pastel baby pink creme, this was opaque in 2 but because of streaking, I did need a third coat. I think with most pastel formula's you expect them to be on the streaky side, and a little bit harder to work with. This polish is available now from the Trust Fund Beauty website for $12 (17ml)

Zoya Matte Velvet Top Coat

The fourth polish item in the box was the Zoya Matte Velvet top coat, I used this in my recent 26 Great Nail Art Idea's mani and I have used it again for my kawaii ice cream mani. I do feel this matte top coat works nicely and it gives a slightly smoother finish than a normal matte top coat. This can be purchased from Nail Polish Direct for £10.95 (14ml)

What's Up Nails Stencils and Glitter

The two nail art item's we were treated to are from the American brand What's Up Nails, some dripping stencils (36pcs vinyls for $3.75) which I used for my ice cream mani and some really pretty Neapolitan confetti ($3.75), great for glitter placement manicures. These can be purchased from the What's Up Nails website.

My overall thoughts on this box are I love the colours and they go amazingly with the theme, the formula is a bit tricky to work with but that is to be expected with pastel polishes.  My favourite item from this box is definitely the Zoya Matte Velvet top coat. It works really well and gives such a nice finish to your mani.

The total price of this box came to £36.95 and it only cost me £20, so still a huge bargain. For those of you who don't know Meebox is a nail polish subscription service for £20 a month, you receive a box filled with nail goodies inspired by a specific theme. I will leave all the links to Meebox and their social media down below.

I would love to know your thoughts on this box? Which item would be your favourite? Let me know down in the comments.

As always have a fabulous nail day and I will chat to you all again soon.
