Dixie Girl Stamping Plate DP02- Swatch & Review

Hello, my lovely readers, this week has been scorching hot and me and heat do not mix well together. I almost didn't manage to get this post up as I have not been feeling good at all, really can not wait for winter. Today's post is all about a brand new stamping plate brand from Dixie Girl a Blogger and Youtuber. She recently came out with 3 plates that she designed herself, luckily she has a UK supplier so I was able to get my hands on one of her new plates.

This beautiful plate is number DP02, there are many different designs and some are quite unique, the size of this plate is the same as an Uber Chic plate 14.5cm by 9.5cm and the images are the same size as well 2.1cm by 1.7cm. They are good for long and short nails, and there are plenty of mani looks that you can create.

One of my favorite things about this plate is the variety of images you can choose from. there is floral, lace, water-marble and geometric images. I will definitely be using the 3 water-marble image to see what looks I can create without actually taking the dive into the water (a true water-marble will be posted shortly). I also love that she included a Splatter image (no need for messy straws) and the cracks to create a marble look which will be really useful in the future.

One of the images I chose to use was the flower lace pattern, I stamped this using Mundo De Unas white. All of the images picked up first try; for my manicure's I used my Clear Jelly stamper to place the image onto my nail.

The scraper I used was from Fab Ur Nails, it was a semi firm scraper, for the lace image I scraped at an angle once and then picked it up. I did also try picking this up with my squishy stamper from Moyou London, it picked up really well too.

My base colour is Picture Polish Bluebird, I will be showing full swatches of this and a few of the other Spring colours in a future post.

The second design I went for was this leaf design, I don't think I have seen this image on any of my other plates. It is very pretty and quite unique I used the same stamper and scraper to pick up the image.

I did find that the image picked up better when I placed the stamping polish at the top of the image and scraped downwards. The stamping polish I used for this image was Born Pretty purple shimmer, this worked really well with the base colour and I loved the contrast of the two colours.

Again for this look I used another one from Picture polish called Spring, it was a great colour to go with the stamping and perfect for this hot weather.

Overall I am very impressed with the Dixie Girl plate 02, all of the images are well etched and fit really nicely on the nail. She did release two other plates that I did not have enough money to get my hands on but after trying this one I will definitely try and pick them up when I have the pennies to do so. I had no issues using this plate it picked up just as well as all of my Uber Chic plates, first time pick up doesn't always happen so I would definitely recommend them and will be keeping an eye out for any future plates she releases.

As I said Dixie Girl is a fellow Blogger and Youtuber, she sells these plates in her Shopify store she is based in Australia. Her direct store will ship to Australia, America and the rest of the world. Her UK stockist for these plates is called Sarah R another Youtuber who I watch, her Etsy store is called Nail Stamping Queen UK. This plate cost me £9.95 and £2.99 shipping so around the same price I pay for an individual Uber Chic plate. I will leave all of the links to both stores down below and all of Dixie Girl's social media so you can go check her out for yourselves.

I would love to know your thoughts on these plates which of these images is your favourite? As always have a fabulous nail day and I will chat to all you wonderful people again soon.

  4. Large versatile of the plate, which is cool. It does increase the risk that there are images you don't care for so the "price per image" would be different from your normal themed plates. But this would be awesome for someone building up a stamping plate Collection

    Great review
