August Meebox- Boho Unboxing & Review (Birthday Box)

Hello, my lovely readers, I hope you have all had a lovely weekend. It was my Birthday yesterday, so my nanny took me out to lunch and Lexi gave me the best present of all. A lie in! Unfortunately, she is not old enough to make me breakfast in bed quite yet, but I am sure we will get there eventually. As we are now at the end of yet another month (where is this year going.) It is that time again for all of us UK nail addicts to dive into our Meebox's, this month Meebox turned 1 years old and the theme they choose was Boho. So let's jump in and see what we have!

This month's box was bursting with polish goodies, we have 3 mainstream polishes, a pot of nail art flakes, a scented polish remover made by the Meebox ladies themselves and a very pretty silver midi ring.

First up is Zoya's Aggie, this is a burnished gold metallic that was fully opaque in 2 coats, in the bottle it does look like there is a green shift to this polish but I couldn't seem to see that on the nail. The formula was easy to work with and levelled out well, I am not a huge fan of golds so I didn't expect to like this one. Surprisingly once I had it on my nails I did think it was quite pretty, I would have really loved to have been able to see that green flash that was so prominent in the bottle. This can be picked up from Nail Polish Direct for £8.95.

The next polish is a gorgeous bright summer shade from Barry M, I have no idea why this wasn't in my collection already because it is definitely a colour I am normally drawn to. The name of this polish is Green Berry it is from their Gelly Hi-Shine line so it dries really glossy, it is a beautiful turquoise colour opaque in 2 coats. This was hands down my favourite from the box, I am definitely not ready to let go of those bright summery colours just yet. You can purchase this from Boots and Superdrug for £3.99

The last polish in the August box is from Cuccio, this is Prince I've Been Gone. It is a dark teal that can look black at times. I am not going to lie this polish scared the hell out of me because it is one of those shades that can stain your nails so bad. I applied two coats of base coat to be safe, I then tried to stay as far away from my cuticles as possible when applying the polish. This became fully opaque in 2 coats, I did think it would be a 1 coater but because of streaking, I did need 2. When I removed this I did have a small amount of staining on my nails, I didn't wear it for very long so I am not sure if it would get worse over time. This can also be purchased from Nail Polish Direct for £3.95.

One of the extras in this months box is an acetone-free nail polish remover, made by the ladies at Meebox. This remover is scented with raspberry & grape and because there is no acetone it is not as harsh on your nails as pure acetone can be. I did use this to remove all of these polishes and it worked really well; when I first squirted some onto the cotton pad it did smell extremely strong. But once you have opened it and using it for a while it does smell quite nice once all the polish is removed from the nails.

The next extra in the box are these beautiful metallic leaves from Miss Cat Nails, these can be used for nail art. Not going to lie I am not quite sure what I am going to do with these yet, but I love the colours. These leaves are in the colour Pistachio and they go perfectly with the three polishes in this months box. You can purchase these from Miss Cat Nails for £2.49.

The last gift in this month's box is a pretty silver midi ring, mine is a pretty leaf pattern. This fits on my pinkie finger, not a chance on the rest of my sausage fingers though (getting normal rings to fit is so hard so not a chance with a midi one LOL.) It is a very pretty little gift for the special birthday box.

Overall I think this month's box is a great transition box from Summer to Autumn (Fall). I am not sure if it screams Boho to me, but then Boho is different to everyone so a hard category to pin point really. This isn't my favourite box from Meebox, I do like it but not love it. Next month's theme is pumpkin spice so I am really looking forward to seeing what they do for that.

For those of you who don't know, Meebox is a monthly nail subscription box where you receive three different polishes and other nail related items to match that particular month's theme. It is £20 per box or you can sign up for 6 or 12 months and get your box at a discounted price. I will leave all of Meebox's social media links and their website below.

I would love to know your thoughts about the box, let me know in the comments. As always have a great nail day and I will chat to all you wonderful people again soon.
