October Meebox Sugar Skulls- Unboxing & Review

Hello, my lovely readers, I hope you have all had a nice week and had a spooky fun Halloween. I was super happy to be living in a flat as I didn't have the issue of trick or treaters banging on the door. I love trick or treaters but not when its past Lexi's bedtime and any little sound can wake her up. Today's post is a very late Meebox unboxing, I did get the October Meebox a few weeks ago but with all the Halloween mani's going on I didn't get the chance to have a play. So let's take a look at the goodies we received last month.

The theme for October's box was Sugar Skulls, it worked really well to coincide with Halloween and Dia de Muertos. Including in the box were three nail polishes and 3 nail art items to help you create those pretty Sugar Skulls.

The first polish that caught my eye was this gorgeous bright sky blue creme from UK indie brand 'Ard As Nails. This beauty is called Take A Dip, it has a lovely easy to apply formula, and is fully opaque in 2 coats. There s a really pretty lighter blue shimmer running throughout this polish as well, This would definitely be a fantastic colour to wear in the summer.

Taking A Dip (4.5ml) is available from 'Ard As Nails for £3.00

The second polish in this months box was from Annika Nail Colour, this is the brand supplied by The Edge Nails. I reviewed some other shades on the blog a few weeks ago, I'll link that post here for you. This beautiful crisp white creme is called White Swan, for me it took 3 coats to reach opacity if i had done thicker ones it may have only needed 2. It was an easy formula to work with, however, if manipulated too much it can cause streaking. My swatch pic is without top coat, it has a gorgeous shiny finish to it so top coat not necessary.

You can pick White Swan up from The Edge Nails for £4.20

The last polish in the Sugar Skulls box is from a new to me indie brand called Deco Miami they are an American Indie maker who are 8 free, cruelty-free and Vegan-friendly. This polish is called Miley Whats Good, this is a beautiful raspberry pink creme, it took 3 coats to reach full opacity. The formula was quite sheer but still easy to work with, I had no issues with cuticle flooding or streaking.

Miley Whats Good (5.5ml) is available from Deco Miami for £10.16

The first nail art object in this month's box is a nail art pen from WAH London, this has two different applicators one is a striper brush and the other a small pen point. This will be a great help with any black detail work I fancy doing in future mani's. The WAH London nail art pen (9.5ml) can be purchased from Boots for £7.00

The second nail art item in the sugar skulls box was a nail art brush from Sparky-Nails, this brush is NBS-2 which is a detail brush. This is perfect for all those tiny little details you want to draw on your nails. I would have liked if it had been a bit thinner as it can create some thick lines. You can pick this brush up from Sparkly-Nails for £1.99

There was another nail art item in this month's box, a little baggy of filmo flowers. I unfortunately do not have a picture of these as my daughter felt the need to grab them off my desk and put them in the bin. Note to self, don't leave anything on your nail desk unless you want it to end up in the rubbish bin. As far as I know the price of the flowers was £1.

Overall I am really impressed with the October box, the polishes were beautiful and perfect for the theme. It cost me £20 and the full price of all the items was £27.35 so still a great bargain. I won't be doing any nail art this month as I tried to get as many Halloween mani's done as I could. Let me know what you think of this box? If I had to pick a favorite out of the three polishes I would definitely go for the 'Ard As Nails, that extra shimmer makes it extra beautiful.

For those of you who don't know, Meebox is a monthly nail subscription box where you receive three different polishes and other nail related items to match that particular month's theme. It is £20 per box or you can sign up for 6 or 12 months and get your box at a discounted price. I will leave all of Meebox's social media links and their website below.

As always have a great nail day and I will chat to all you wonderful people again soon.
