May 2017 Meebox Lost City- Unboxing & Review

Happy bank holiday Monday lovelies, I hope you are all having a really nice relaxing long weekend. I wasn't even aware it was a bank holiday until someone pointed it out the other day, as you can tell I am totally on the ball LOL. As we near the end of another month it is time for some more surprise nail mail, which can only mean one thing a Meebox unboxing.

This month the theme was Lost City, my mind instantly went to the Indiana Jones movie. As well as all sorts of Aztec designs, I thought there would be a sandy brown and beautiful teals. Turns out I was right about one of those colours. Inside the box were 3 nail polish and two nail art items.

Cuccio Pier Pressure

The first polish that caught my eye was this beautiful pale pink Cuccio polish, this borders that line between white and pink perfectly. I only needed two coats for it to be fully opaque and the formula was nice to work it was quite streaky on the first coat but evened out nicely one the second. This polish is available from Nail Polish Direct for £4.46.

Ruby Wing Hello Sailor

There was also a new to me brand included in this month box, I had never heard of Ruby Wing until now. This polish is called Hello Sailor, a UV reactive nail polish, when inside it is a very sheer pale orange and then in the sunlight, this turns into an opaque bright orange. I used 3 coats for my swatch photo's, I am not sure how I feel about this one. Hello Sailor is available now from the Ruby Wing website for $10.

Annika Blue Lagoon

This polish is definitely my favourite from this box, it was a nightmare to photograph. It actually leans a lot more teal. It had a lovely creme formula that was fully opaque in 2 coats, a really love polish to wear for Summer. This is available now from The Edge Nails for £3.50.

NCLA Take It Off Soy Remover Wipes

I really enjoyed using these wipes, they removed the nail polish with minimal effort and did not dry out my cuticles. They also smelled a lot nicer than regular nail polish remover or acetone. These wipes are available now from the NCLA website for $19.

House of Wonderland Rockin' Claws Lost City Decals

The last item in this month's box was these beautiful Aztec style water decals from House Of Wonderland. I had never heard of this site until now and at first glance, it looks like all the products are cuteness overload. I believe these decals were specially made for this box, but they do have other decals that are £5 per sheet.

Overall I can't really say this box made me jump for joy, some of the polishes just weren't my cup of tea. But that is just personal preference, the full retail price of this box comes to £35.55 which is still a really good bargain considering the box cost me £20. I am sure a lot of you are aware by now how Meebox works, but for those of you who don't, it is a monthly nail subscription box available here in the UK. For just £20 a month you receive a box full of nail goodies based on a theme. I will leave links to Meebox and their social media down below.

What do you think of the Lost City Box? I think the Annika polish and the wipes are definitely my favorite items from this month, I would love to know which ones are yours, let me know down in the comments.

As always my lovelies have a fabulous nail day and I will chat to you again soon.

  2. Gorgeous review, not a massive fan of the colour mix in this box but that Annika polish is stunning. I actually have it and now need to use it.
